Is 2000 realistic

Ever since I had my first conversation with the Scottish Widows Sponsorship Manager back in November I have been convinced that we are going to have a record entry.

But I have been frightened to quote the number 2000

But privately I have felt that it is possible - I'll go into the reasons another day.

Although there are only 9 days and 2 hours left to enter, so many of the entries have always been "last minute". As I write (maybe I am being influenced by Monty Python's Lumberjack Song Playing on my computer) we have 560 first timers out of 1164 entries. 48% of those entering have never walked before. With so many first timers we are going to fly past the record - and towards 2000.
